In Rabbits class, we aim to provide a smooth and successful transition to our preschool class. Our focus during this phase is on the Specific Areas of learning in the Foundation Stage Curriculum. These areas include Literacy, Mathematics, Knowledge and Understanding Of The World, and Expressive Art and Design.

While nurturing your child’s individuality remains at the core of our teaching, we are keen to build upon the knowledge and skills they have mastered in Squirrels class. This incremental approach gradually introduces more structure, preparing them for the next stages of their educational journey.
At this stage, adult-led learning plays a vital role. Our objective is to support your child’s understanding of numbers, their values, and the development of their pre-writing skills. By providing a supportive environment and tailored activities, we encourage their engagement and participation, ensuring a solid foundation for their future progress.
Through carefully planned group and individual activities, we will facilitate their exploration of mathematical concepts and strategies. These activities will introduce numbers in various contexts, enhancing their comprehension and ability to apply their knowledge practically.
Furthermore, we will stimulate their curiosity about the world around them through Knowledge and Understanding Of The World . By exploring different topics, such as nature, festivals, and everyday objects, we aim to expand their understanding of their immediate surroundings and beyond. Our goal is to foster a love for lifelong learning and cultivate their innate sense of wonder.

Expressive Art and Design will also play a significant role in Rabbits class. Encouraging creativity and self-expression is paramount to us. Through various art forms, your child will have the opportunity to explore materials, colours, and techniques, stimulating their imagination and developing their aesthetic sensibilities. We believe that fostering a sense of creativity will not only enhance their artistic abilities but also nurture their problem-solving skills and ability to think outside the box.
